Tuesday, should I make goals for August?

Since I have yet to pay all the bills for July (will get there today I promise) I am a little leery to make any rash plans for August as we all know how July went over here.  I am a little gun shy.  It was going to be a no spend month after vacation the 3-8 remember?  Did I jinx myself?  I mean this is an expensive string of bad luck.
I think bedroom will be all done today and the contractor out of the house, he just has a few more small things to do today.  I am worried about the final bill.
The baby elephant has the day off and she is going to help me organize all of her stuff for a yard sale.  I was able to get the dresser and bookcase into the closet yesterday.  I went through all the books and found what I would keep and the then try to sell.  Also went through the bathroom things but it is never ending.
I have a brides dress to go out today and 3 pairs of pants and 4 night gowns that need hemmed.  All by 3 o'clock.  I also need to go down to the studio this morning and get the schedule for fall classes solidified and do a mass mailing , then stop by Newspaper to put an add in for yard sale and new enrollment.

I was so disappointed when I balanced the checking yesterday.  We only had $154.00 left and I have several small bills to pay.  I also had to spend $56.00 at the grocer.   So I will see where I stand today.  Scary.  Even though I have the $500.00 put away I will need that for the house payment.  Okay, Okay I just have to make it through the month of August.  I can do this.

Out My Window:  Beautiful and hot.

I am off to the races, I hope I win!

Monday, so much to do

Spent the weekend helping the baby elephant clean out her college apartment.  It seems like yesterday when we were moving her up there.  All that work undone!  But I hope her experience this year will be better.  I went up and met her last Thursday evening and took down a load in my Subaru.  She had been packing for two days so it was pretty organized.  Daughter # 2 came down from Northern Idaho and met me at the apartment at 10 in the morning Saturday and she took a bunch of things for her apartment including the TV.  My goal was to not have to rent a storage unit.  We loaded up the to Subaru's and cleaned all the cupboards, fridge, stove, bathroom, windows, shelves nooks and crannies and then moved everything into the front room that was left.  I drove back home and we unloaded and then took the Subaru and the Pickup Truck up and loaded the bed and dresser and shelf, we vacuumed and turned in the keys!

So Now I am faced with this:

I will store a bookcase and a dresser in a walk in closet in downstairs bedroom .  The dresser in hard wood bought by my parents 60 years ago and the drawers are lined with cedar, the book case was made by Hubby.  We took the year old Queen Mattress and box spring to a friends basement.  They have live in help and needed a mattress for hospice help.  Perfect we don't have to rent a storage and someone will be grateful to store mattress.

However the closet I wish to use looks like this, so I will need to clean and organize first!

This is the bathroom off the bedroom with all her crap, we will go through this and keep what is needed!

This is the garage!  We will have a yard sale on Thursday !  Zebra print anyone?

But first I will have to clean driveway!  It is gross.... from sewer backup and junk...
Wouldn't you just love to be my neighbor?  Sharon... Sharon... Sharon? I hate it when my driveway looks like this!

So you can see that I have my work cut out for me today, on top of sewing, helping contractors work on Master Bedroom and  paying the rest of July's bills.

Out My Window: Warm and beautiful , supposed to get cooler, I mean in the low 90's

Have a great and productive day!

Friday, What financial goals?

With all the hoopla and water disasters around here I have been barely hanging on to my sanity.  Where did August go?  I still have bills to pay and have never written out an August budget.  I just remembered that I have to have $500.00 in cash to help pay the house payment on the 1st or at least by the 5th.  I have not even thought of this!  Yikes.  So just ran in and did an assessment.  I have $120.00 cash in my purse.  I have 2 Wedding dresses to be picked up that will bring in $180.00.  I have uniforms to be picked up today $140.00  and Misc. things that total about $80.00, so I have made it without really putting my concentration there. Whew!  I need to pay closer attention, what has been distracting me?  I also filled both cars with gas this week using cash from the shop and wasn't that the plan?  Remind me of the plan.......

Here is a small example of why I need to start a cleaning/organizing marathon in August.  Several people are joining me.

Why is this mess here?  Because it is a flat surface.  Could I use this iron to say press pillow cases or cuffs?  No because it is covered with crap!  I do beleive everyone hangs painters tape off of decorative hooks don't you?

Here is another great example:

These are linens from daughters college apartment.  Do I have a place to put them?  No.  Do I have a linen closet right now? No.  It has been torn up to get into the back of the shower on the guest bath.  I will try to remedy that today. What a mess. As this was the first load down I beleive it will get deeper,

Out My Window:  Warm in the low 90's, ate cucumbers and squash from garden last night.  Yum.

I love you sissie!

Have a great and productive day!

Thursday, plan of action

I am really tired of the constant uproar in my life, so I need to devise a plan that will help me get out of this funk, both spiritually and physically.  In years past (but not recent) I used to take the month of August and systematically go through my house, room by room and drawer by drawer.  I would throw out and donate, really deep clean.  This helped keep the place more organized and easier to take care of throughout the year. Because we have so much going on right now in the house, with everything torn up and stuff piled every where I have really noticed the junk and muck.

Remember the challenges that Carla had at the beginning of the year, well I am going to start a challenge the beginning of August.  Who wants to join me?  I am going to start with my front room and every drawer and closet and cubby hole.  This room is not used much, but as I am a stuffer, the closet and drawers are sure to be full of crap!  I am going to systematically go through this dungeon and by the time the studio starts, it will sparkle!  Anyone up for the challenge? Complete with before and after pictures.

Besides getting a really clean and decluttered environment I will feel more in control, like I am actually doing something to  make my life better besides having disasters right and left.  I realize that financial goals are backward but I am not going to dwell on this and will face the new numbers in September.  I can do this (like I have any choice):)

So here is to a cleaner house and a better environment.   Less clutter, less stress.  More free time to concentrate on getting out of debt.  More free time to develop a positive attitude and a renewed debt payoff strategy.

Have a great and productive day!

Wednesday, Judy? Judy? Judy?

Okay what is going on?  I can't live without Judy, or Mysti, Sharon, Lena, Jane, Tanner, Gil, Alyssa, Rhitter the list goes on and on.  I was gone and someone said her son had a problem?  Please fill me in.  She has been such a support to me. Crap and double crap!

Still sitting here with tape on my eye.  Hoping all is well.  The house is so torn up it is hard to maneuver.  But the tiling is done and the grout is drying.  Both the ceilings are painted in the bedroom and bathrooms.  I just want the mess gone.  We are going up to get a load from the baby elephants apartment.  I am going to have a yard sale weekend after next.  Or maybe the middle of August to get rid of as much stuff as possible.  Right now I just want to be able to see and get my shop caught up. So grateful it is busier, but the easy hemming work seems to have dried up.  I am going to check around and see if I should start running an ad in another paper.

I really need to kick myself in the butt and get a program going where I feel that I am doing something to make my life better.  So I am going to put on my thinking cap and get to work.

Have a great and productive day!

Tuesday evening, love my life!

Sorry for going awol but Saturday morning the neighbor woke us up to inform us that a large Ponderosa Pine that is on our property had split during a storm the day before and had landed on his house.  Yes we are responsible.  Hubby was able to spend all day removing the 1/2 on his house and really very little damage.  But the tree is leaning and has to come down.  $1000.00 to tree service.  Just as we were coming in the phone rang and my mother was in the emergency room with heart failure again.  So I have spent the last 4 days in Missoula at the hospital which is just a long 4 days of pain and frustration.  I am home as I have another cataract surgery tomorrow.  Mom is stable but weak.  I think I feel the need to wear my crown again but then I think of all those poor people in Colorado and I am ashamed.  I think we all need to just pray for a better world and realize how blessed we really are, still day to day problems do take their tole.

God Bless

Saturday, time to clean!

Sewer men were here all day yesterday, it was super hot 107 and then we had a rain storm like I have never seen here before.  About 2 inches in 30 minutes.  Their work area was a muddy mess, the hole they had dug filled with water to one of the mens chest and was climbing so they had to pull him out.  This put them really behind and the concrete man was rained out so we have 2 big old holes that are heaped with gravel in the driveway waiting to be compacted and they will do the pretty work sometime next week.  The tile work is already laid for the shower it has to set for the weekend and will then be grouted.

Hubby and I are taking the old toilet to a habitat store and then we are going to do a dump run. Trying to clean up some of the mess from this construction.  We also have to take all the pictures off the walls and put everything under cover in the master bedroom, the painting should start on Monday. So things are rolling along here.
I did get into the shop yesterday and cleaned the desk, what a lot of work.  I threw away at least a large trash can of just crap.  Then I cleaned and wiped down all the corners where the water leak was and now I have piles to go through and file.  I am going to pay bills today.  I also need to get a few groceries, mostly fresh fruit and lunch meat.

I also really cleaned the shop yesterday and it is so nice I actually enjoy going in there.  But I hate to admit this Judy the ironing has taken on a life of it's own!  Again!  SO I will try to address that today.  I was able to get quite a bit of sewing done yesterday and I have enough to keep me busy next week, but I still am not as busy as I would like.

Baby Elephant and I went out last night to try and fill her list for Rush at her sorority.  We had it all done in about 4 hours.  She needed white Keds, black v-neck t-shirt, white v-neck t-shirt, white shorts, pastel cocktail dress, nude flats, black sandals, black heels, Fire engine red cocktail dress, pearls.  We ended the evening at Macy's in the shoe department and she said I can't believe we are done, most of my sisters have been worrying about this for months and I am done in one evening.

Well I pointed out to her she is a size 0 and has a size 6 foot.  So all those sizes are readily available on  super clearance sale prices.  We purchased her a designer pink cocktail dress for $19.00 and shoes to match at TJ MAXX.  But she can wear an extra small.  I am making the Fire Engine red dress.  Pattern at Jo-Anns 99cents and red fabric for $13.00.  I have the boning and thread and zipper.  She is done.  I don't think she realizes how blessed she is to have a super great body and a mommy with an eye for a bargains that can sew.

Baby elephant has a funeral today for a high school friend that committed suicide,  So sad.  What would make a young person with their whole life ahead of them lose all hope?  I know this young man lost his father as a young child and then his mother to breast cancer in high school.   Just a tragedy.

Well I need to get my but in gear and get the junk out of the garage and then start the ironing pile.

Have a great and productive day.

Friday, putting things off!

Okay, okay my pity party is over, who wants to wear the crown?  Since my last two weeks have been a blur and the first week we were on vacation, I can say it is now the 20th of July and I have not looked at the budget.  Just wallowing in my beer and I don't even drink.  Maybe that is the problem?  I need to clean off the desk and pay bills.  How about open the mail?  I need to be reimbursed by our medical savings and I need to see why the car insurance company has not reimbursed me for a towing charge.  Maybe balance an account or two.

Or I could just sit in limbo waiting for the next surgery.  But alas, the shop is calling me and it is a disaster.  I just need to dig out and organize. I have a few pairs of pants to hem and a Wedding dress to alter.  TODAY.

All of the holes are patched downstairs, the new toilet is set and and the sink has a new faucet, all handicap usage.  Plumber will be over to do tub today!  Yeah a tub I can turn on and off that does not drip constantly.  He will also put up three handicap tub and toilet bars today.

I have backhoe out front tearing up the concrete as I write.  They should be done with that tomorrow. Still have not chosen paint for bedroom to cover up sheet rock patches, so will get hubby to help me with that today!

We are very broke here and I need a day of reckoning,  it will not be pretty.

Out My Window:  106 yesterday and very hot.  I am glad that my shop is in the basement.

Looking forward to getting all this work done and people out of the house. I also need to update my debts.  I am usually so excited to do that, but because I have gone so far backwards I don't want to see it in print.

Have a great and productive day!

Thursday, you are not going to believe this...

I went in to surgery yesterday, but instead of going into the surgery center they took me back to an office to see the surgeon and a few others.  My eye doctor who I had seen Tuesday morning had faxed them a scathing note about my close up vision.  Well come to find out they had put the wrong lens in my eye!  This was due to the lasic I had about 3 years ago.  So they re did the original surgery.  Popped out the old (one week old) lens and put in another.  Yeah me.  Now I still have to go back next week for the second eye.  I am a little despondent about this.

Just a little too much going on right now and it all seems to be bad.  I am grateful for my eyes, but what a pain, both emotionally and physically.

Hubby and I went to Credit Union yesterday and took out $10,000 signature loan.  I actually made hubby figure out what we would do.  When he came home Tuesday, I just said, I was not going to make any decisions and have them be my fault.  We could sit in sewage.  He then realized that we would have to go and borrow money.  He added up the work we had already agreed to and then put a buffer on because so much of what we are facing is unknown.  He also said it looks like we will be paying on the house one year longer.  Well yes glad you figured that out.

Contractor came yesterday and started shower demolition.  He also has put all the sheet rock back and is coming back today to sand and patch a little more and then paint.  He will also start to tile today.  I might have all this done by next week!  It will be so nice to have it behind me, although I will live with the money issues a long while.

So on  a more positive note:  These are the things that I will gain out of this fiasco...

1. I will no longer have to have the sewer line snaked every 6 months at the cost of $180.00 per episode.
2. Drains that actually run in the house and don't back up all the time.
3. A newly painted master bedroom and bathroom. Also all the sheet rock problems done.
4. New fixtures in the spare bath that I can turn on and are handicap accessible.
5. Downstairs bath repainted
6. New sewer line that will add to the re-sale of the house.
7. Drive way will be fixed so lower cars don't hit bottom when they come up.

All this happiness and more with say abut $10,000.  Takers?

Out My Window:  Hot, but cooled down by thundershowers.  We have way more rain in the northwest than usual.  As the Mid west scorches.  I need to weed the entire yard, but that is not going to happen for a while.  Just too lazy and my eyes don't and won't track together until the other surgery is done!  I wonder what excuse I could use after that.

Have a great and productive day!

Wednesday, oh yes it can!

I guess I got a little controversial yesterday and made someone angry.  Recognized the writer immediately.  I had read her blog months ago but she shut it down, because basically we are all whining idiots.  Okay who wants to join my whining idiot club?  Sluggy you game?  Some times my inner crabby self beats up my Pollyanna self and wins for a few days.  They are still duking it out by the way.
To add insult to injury we have to do 1200.00 worth of concrete work to our driveway.  We don't own the first 5 feet of our driveway, they are in a city right of way.  We pay the taxes and maintain it but cannot work on it with out a licensed contractor.  So no sneaking out at night to pour your own cement. Life just gets better and better around here.

I am headed off to surgery,  stay posted and I am serious about my club!  We could vote in a changing Queen and yesterday was my day to rule.  I will share my crown...

Tuesday, can it get any worse?

Our sewer line has collapsed.  This is why we have all the build up in the pipes.  Nothing really drains or it drains very slowly.  Our driveway is starting to sink in one spot.  A crew is coming out today to ultra sound the cement and depth the line.  It will be between 5-9 thousand dollars.  So add that to the 3-4 we already have agreed to and I am back in debt big time.  I will not be able to get the truck paid off by Christmas, nor the car by next May.  I just took one old huge step backwards.  It is like all the work I have done all year is gone, poof up in smoke.  I am so discouraged and angry.  Why?  Why can't things just be easy? Why can I not get out of debt? Some one needs to throw me a bone.

Last night I was trying to put a bed ruffle on the spare bedroom bed.  I was struggling and Hubby came in and asked if I wanted help.  I never ask for help, because it has to be on his terms, when he wants it done, or it is done poorly and I get frustrated, so I though oh quit struggling and let him lift the mattress. He hurks it up way to fast and high, hits the expensive triple matted picture on the wall that goes with a matched set and it crashes to the floor and breaks.  I started screaming and swearing at the top of my lungs,  He went outside and shut the door and then went to bed at 8:30.  He had better be afraid, because even though I know he did not do it on purpose, I have a very short chain right now.  He will not be the one trying to figure out how to pay for all of this and he will not work any harder.  I will however.  For a long, long time.

I know this sounds spoiled and awful, but I just want to be taken care of.  I don't want to work anymore.  I have worked 3-5 jobs for almost 40 years and even when I get close, it evaporates.  I want to be a kept woman.  I want someone to take care of me.  I don't want to work.  I want to stay home and putter and do hobbies and play bridge.  I want to be married to a doctor so I never have to work outside my home and I can spend what I want within reason.  I am so tired.  I just want to give up.  I can't start crying because I have another surgery tomorrow and I don't want to inflame my eyes.

I am just so mad.  This will never, ever end.  I don't think I have what it takes.

Have a better day than I am going to have.....

Monday, who made this mess?

I could ask myself this on so many levels.  Who made this mess?  My house is a wreck.  I mean a wreck.  I know this is due to just getting home from vacation with laundry, sand, cooking boxes, sand, camp/beach stuff sand.... and then at least 8 plumbing problems 2 of them major.  So the time I should have spent putting away and cleaning, I spent dealing with plumbers and crying and feeling sorry for myself.

I had a plan of attack for the plumbing by Wednesday, but I also had a cataract removed, enter double vision, and no and I mean no depth perception.  Contractor came Thursday (the day the house keeper comes) and she got two big buckets of water and the contractor shut off the water for the day.  Because we were on vacation the week before there was a two week accumulation of dust, dog hair, cat hair, us, sand, sand, sand.  Well those buckets were soon full of filthy water and useless and she continued through the rest of the house with window cleaner and prayer. So it is a little grimy.  I do not expect this woman to put anything away, just clean surfaces and change beds.

I catered a party for a friend's birthday (yesterday).  It was lovely and went off without a hitch I just ate too much.  Started cooking on Friday which was interesting with my eyes not tracking together.  A lot of Popeye going on in that kitchen.  I tried to clean as I went but it is still such a  mess.  Between suit cases, camping gear, coolers, the baby elephants crap (everywhere) walls torn up, backed up laundry and now serving pieces and crystal, and silver, and china all over the very dirty kitchen, I just want to stay in bed!

I realize that this is a personal finance blog and I should be talking about my ever enlarging debt, but first I have to dig out (sorry Mysti) of my filthy disorganized house!

I hopped out of bed (okay I slunk) when the neighbor rang the doorbell at 9 p.m.  Yes, me sleeping until 9 p.m.  He delivered a big basket of apricots, yeah!  I love apricots but now I have to do something with them in a kitchen that the health inspector would condemn. I started to look around and realized I could not longer use the water excuse to live like a rat.  I have the master bed and bath cleaned, the spare bath cleaned, I have organized and swept the spare bedroom and am in the process of changing the sheets.  I have started the laundry even though I still need to address the plumbing in the laundry room.  I can do a load of laundry and then mop up the little bit of water that leaks. Called roto rooter and they will have a guy out here between 2-4 to clean out the drains to the sewer. I put away all vacation crap, unclogged the very badly clogged vacuum and  I am on a roll. I can no longer feel sorry for myself as my house falls down around me.

The shop has been crazy busy today and I have a ton of work to do in the next two days besides cleaning this mess up. I should be so grateful right Judy?  I am.  I am truly grateful.

1.I still need to finish the spare room.
     2. Put away all serving ware.
     3. Clean Kitchen.
     4. Vacuum rugs upstairs.
     5. finish laundry

Out My window:  It is much cooler and we have had more rain, but that nice summer rain that cools things off.  Chickens laid 6 eggs in neighbors yard. Naughty birds.

I have 6 shirts to tailor in the next 2 hours so I had better run.

Have a great and productive day!

Friday, the 13th!

I had my first daughter on a Friday the 13th.  She was born at 3:13 in the morning and weighed 8.13 oz.  I am 5.2 and was about 105 when I got pregnant, needless to say not a good delivery.
I got up this morning and went down to read blogs before starting my day.  Then I remembered that I needed to put eye drops in so I stopped my comment on Mysti's blog and ran upstairs to do this.  The drops have to be administered 5 minutes apart, so why not start a sink full of hot water for the dishes, okay that is done now I should put those two full chickens on to boil for the chicken salad I need for Sunday, oh yeah I also need to make an orange lemon cake (three layer) for the same party on Sunday, turn on stove and throw batter together, go put eye drop in.   Gee, I had better at least finish the cake and get it into the oven so the batter does not release all of its gas, okay since it take 3 batches I now have enough batter left for 12 cupcakes, where are those darling daisy cupcake wrappers I bought for a quarter? dug those out, filled tins put in oven.  Chickens are boiling away, now there is only 15 minutes left on first cake , I don't want to burn cake so I mix up my favorite sugar cookie dough to make daisy cookies to match cake, put those in the fridge to cool , pull out first cake, finish dishes, pull out other two layers, clean counter tops, put away baking supplies, pull out cupcakes,  Now I have spent 1 hour and 15 minutes on a 5 minute errand.  Do you see why I am crazy?

Came back and commented on Mysti's blog, it is a fun short questionnaire go there!

Out My Window:  It is supposed to cool down today by about 10 degrees,  so 90 sounds wonderful!

It is just one day at a time here financially.   Hubby was with me at the store last night and asked why I wasn't paying in cash.  He just doesn't get it.  The shop has been very slow this month, we just went on vacation, we have plumbers to pay.  I use all my sewing money this week to finish paying the house payment. We have to be able to pay it without the cleaning check, so we have a lot less money. But when you never have to earn the money for anything extra you don't see this.  I have to earn any extra money coming in.  If there is a disaster, ei. surgery, repairs, vacations ME!  I wanted to slap him.....

Have a great and productive day!

Thursday, I can see to write the plumbers check!

Surgery was completely painless and I am now far sighted in my right eye.  I mean things are crystal clear and my left everything is yellow and dull.  But my close up vision is trashed.  I already wear reading glasses for close up hand sewing and reading but I will have to go to a much stronger prescription as I will not be able to see the computer keyboard, which I could see just fine before the surgery.  Since I always and I mean always wear a pair of cheaters on my head this is no problem.

Plumbers update:  Phase one get the kitchen sink running.  Pipe was rotted out the whole length of the house.  I have 4 new holes in my walls.  It was a horrible big job. I actually felt sorry for the plumber. He has suggested putting a hinged flap over one of the holes so we can access the kitchen better.  So I will have Hubby make something pretty.  Cost so far and we still may have to have it snaked $300.00

Next week we start Phase 2:  Shower demolition and moving pipes to inside wall so they are code and redoing shower, fixing water damage to sheet rock and repainting.  $700.00 plus parts. When the sheet rock work is done for this phase we will fix holes in basement.

Phase 3:  New fixtures that I can turn on with my arthritis, new handicap toilet, three handicap bars.  (remember the tub fall)

Out My Window:  Very hot here, but nice.  The flower boxes outside were gasping and falling over but I had no water today until 4 o'clock.

I am going to have to take out a loan to get all this plumbing done.  I only have a thousand dollar e-fund and I do not want a home equity loan, I also don't want the CC debt which I just paid off.  But I will figure something out and then have to pay it back.  Do you remember my post on a $1000.00 E-fund is not enough!  Here is proof, but it is a blessing when you are trying to get out of debt.  Also contractors and plumbers will put these things on Credit Cards but you get a good discount if you pay cash.  This just means I will have to put off paying off the Truck a few months.  GRRRRR!

Have a great and productive day!

Tuesday, still no sink

Well plumber #1 showed up 6 hours late and he has to have a real plumber come take a look.  He wants to tear out 2 walls (one in the new bedroom).  Plumber #2 did not show up at all.  Plumber #3 just left.  He was actually a plumber, so he told me to have Hubby take trap out from under sink and put a large bucket there.  Then I could drain into the bucket and throw it out the back door and at least do the dishes.  Now why did we not think of that?

#1  We have to fix the sink.  Plumber may be able to do this from behind the kitchen cupboards, yes there will be some tear out, a cosmetic fix.  If this cannot be done we will have to go tear out the basement.

#2 Master Bath shower must be ripped out to a certain height  and then re tiled.  The plumbing in the shower is on an outside wall which is not code.  It has to be switched to a different wall but as we are tearing out this is not a problem.  It will be expensive.  We have some other issues in this room as far as sheet rock are concerned and it has never been painted since we moved in 13 years ago.  So  I am going to get a bid and have this all done at once.  It will be cheaper than calling a plumber out repeatedly.

#3 We will have to have sheet rocking done after plumber so I will have the bedroom fixed also.  This way I eliminate having to call in a repair man twice.

#4 Plumber cannot even come back until maybe Thursday or Friday.  I will call the man who did the bedroom downstairs and get a bid on the Master bath.

On a good note (can you beleive there was a good note?)  The shop was very busy yesterday!  I think it will be busy today also.

Out My Window:  107 yesterday, yes the warm weather is here, if I start to complain please remind me about how cold it was the entire month of June!

I am a little anxious about my surgery tomorrow.  But this right eye is driving me crazy, so I am also looking forward to getting a new lens that is not cloudy.

Have a great and productive day!

Monday, plumber on his way

Okay the plumber is on his way and the wash machine is leaking.  Yes the new was machine.  It is under warranty so I am calling them in a minute.  Many customers here this morning, but two had jobs I could or would not do.   I will not slave on something that makes no money.  I have learned the hard way over the years not to let people take advantage of my skills at least in the sewing shop:)  I have the dance studio for that!

Going to call the wash machine people.  Trying to count my blessings!

Sunday. late night woes

Yeah, I'm back!  We had a great time, came home to a huge water leak behind the wall of the kitchen sink leading into the basement.  What a stinky mess!  Had to clean out tons of storage boxes, (mostly kids crap) to find where it is leaking.  So I will have to call a plumber in the morning.  I am worried that we might have to take out a wall in the downstairs bath to get to the leak!

I then took some dishes into the spare bath to wash and clogged the upstairs bath sink.  We then discovered upstairs shower in master bath is leaking.  (This was discovered when finding kitchen leak)  The master bath shower is so bad it has worn a hole in sheet rock of ceiling leading to the closet where the other leak was found.  Several tiles in Master bath shower are loose and the entire shower is tiled.  We may have to rip the whole thing out and replace it.  This could cost thousands.  I love my life.

It was beautiful in Oregon, a little chilly and never got above 65 but the sun shown every day.  Hubby and I arrived a day before the kids.  We unpacked and walked the 6 mile loop and then went to have dinner.  The next day we got up early and walked the loop again.   Okay 12 miles in about  12 hours.  Then daughter # 2 came and she begged me to walk the loop with her.  So (I did).  Okay 18 miles in less than 24 hours is a little much.  We used to run it every day and then walk it once.  But I can no longer run.   My right foot became very inflamed and I thought maybe a I had reopened an old stress fracture.  I was more more careful the rest of the week and only walked it once a day from then on.

Out My Window:  It is 105 here so big temperature difference. Chickens are huge, I guess hot weather agrees with them.

I had quite a few phone calls for the shop while I was in Oregon.  Everyone was really nice about the fact that I was on vacation.  But I expect a really busy day tomorrow.  So besides the plumbing issues I will be slammed busy the next two days.  I am having my first cataract surgery on Wednesday.  I am not sure how well I will be able to see until the second eye is done.

I am glad to be home, but will miss the Ocean and the wonderful time I had with all my daughters and my grandson.  Pray for my plumbing.  Is that appropriate?

Have a wonderful night!
